What Does Julie Andrews Have to Say About ‘Glee’?
This is a small excerpt from a much longer interview. The interview itself was not specifically about Glee but there was a question about it and I love this amazing Dame’s answer…
P.S. I’d love to see her on the show – just sayin’.
PC: It is wonderful to see that. What do you think of GLEE?
JA: (Laughs.) I think it’s wonderful. I think it is so terrific that we are getting a chance to, you know, air some of these Broadway songs and help children to learn about them. You know, the scary thing is, Pat…
PC: Yes…
JA: I asked one of my daughter’s friends in high school, she said that she was studying musical theatre. So, I said to her, “What are you doing?” and she said, “I’m singing and I’m singing some ballads.” She mentioned a couple, and I said, “Are you doing any Rodgers & Hammerstein?” and she said, “Who?” and my heart sank!
PC: Wow.
JA: I made a vow then and there that it was my mission in life to keep promoting all the greats because, if one isn’t careful they will – I don’t think they’ll go away, but I do feel a distinct need to help push them forward – but I think GLEE is doing just that.
Snipits
WOW it has been a long time since I’ve done a snipits post. Well, there have been a few little newsworthy items scattered across the internet the last couple of days so I thought I’d just bring them all together…
‘GLEE’ GETS A BOOK DEAL
Tuesday night was the season finale and now there’s no more Glee until the fall. If it’s any consolation, though, Fox and Little, Brown have done a deal to publish a Glee-based book series, the first entry of which will be out in August. Glee: The Beginning, a prequel to the show’s first season, will finally tell the stories of all your favorite characters before they joined show choir. Here’s hoping Mr. Schuester’s rapping is better in print
Will you buy the books?

CHRIS COLFER’S POTTY BLUNDER
“Glee” star Chris Colfer was left red faced after realizing he had relieved himself in a prop toilet.
The actor was caught short in the middle of filming and dashed to the nearest lavatory to pee only to realize the toilet wasn’t supposed to be used.
The 20-year-old was mortified when he discovered he’d urinated in a prop toilet for TV series “Monk.”
He recalls, “One night we were working really late and I had, like, 27 Diet Cokes and I had to use the restroom really bad. … I noticed the toilet wouldn’t flush, and the sink wasn’t working either. I looked up and realized there was no ceiling, and then I realized, ‘Oh my God, I’m on a soundstage. I was on the set of another TV show. I was on the set of Monk.”

‘GLEE’ SUPERFAN SITE
Here we are, beginning day 3 of the Glee summer hiatus. What are you doing to pass the time? How many times have you watched the finale? Me? Um, at least 5. So on top of blogging through the hiatus, watching episodes of Glee on repeat, and keeping up with as much Glee news as possible, I’m also going to play around on THIS SITE!
It looks like Fox is going to keep the hype going through the summer so let’s hope we get some good stuff as the weeks progress. Check out the site and see what you think!
Snipits: Weekend Edition
Wow! It’s been a while since I’ve done a Snipits post! Here’s a few good Glee goodies that don’t necessarily need their own post…
Idina Menzel made her debut in Glee on Tuesday and while it was rumored that Ms. Menzel was only going to be in the first episode back and the season finale, it turns out she’ll be in a lot more! I love Idina, always have, but I’m not sure yet how I feel about her character. I just don’t want her causing even more heartache for my favorite couple. Idina will appear in the following episodes:
- Episode 18 – May 18th
- Episode 19 – May 25th
- Episode 20 – June 1st
- Episode 21 – June 8th
Mark Salling
There is no doubt that Mark Salling is one cute Gleek. It seems that the rest of the blogging world thinks so too, especially The Hollywood Gossip who has voted Mark Salling one of Hollywood’s hottest elligible bachelors! Among the others on the list? Ryan Gossling, Usher, Ryan Seacrest, and Joe Jonas.
Lea Michele is one hot lady right now. She’s been featured on Rolling Stone, TV Guide, been to the White House, and the Oprah Winfrey show and nominated for a Golden Globe Award. Now she’s up for another award for Logo Network’s NewNowNext Awards. You can vote for Lea here! Congrats Lea, you’re on fire!
So glad to hear that Jane Lynch is indeed engaged to girlfriend Dr. Lara Embry. Now that the star has confirmed the news and flashed her bling, it’s time to find out where she’ll be tying the knot. ““We have about four states to choose from and we’ll figure that out.” California overturned its gay marriage law in 2008.”
Jane’s got other reasons to be Glee-ful too! She is being awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 14th annual Outfest Film Festival this July! Jane, what can we say…you ROCK!!
Oh and one more bit on Jane…
Comedians will converge on downtown Los Angeles this weekend for the Los Angeles Comedy Shorts Film Festival.
The fest, running April 15-18, will welcome comedians including Jane Lynch (“Glee”), Gary Anthony Williams (“Boston Legal,” “The Boondocks”), Mindy Sterling (‘Austin Powers’), Nicole Parker (“MADtv”) and more.
The event will include screenings of over 75 shorts as well as celebrity panels. For more, visit www.lacomedyshorts.com.
Dianna Agron
Dianna Agron took a tumble on set yesterday. Luckily she’s just fine…nothing a few ice packs can’t fix. Feel better Dianna!
Snipits: Weekend Edition
The pre-sale for the Glee tour sold out in 5 minutes. American Express opens up a pre-sale for special events to their cardholders and since pretty much everyone in America has an American Express card and since Glee is the best thing ever, it was no surprise that these tickets sold out in record time.
There has been some confusion but the sell out was for the pre-sale tickets only. These tickets had been set aside and there are still tickets available when general sale opens up next week. But be quick in your ordering because I am CERTAIN that the general sale tickets will sell out in record time as well.
In related tour news, NY & LA have added an additional day and will now have 3 shows total instead of 2!
To buy tickets and get information on the tour head over to gleetour2010.com.
Don’t forget that Sunday is the Oscars! Not only are we hoping to see some of our fabulous Gleeks mingling with their Hollywood buddies and hitting up fabulous parties, but Glee’s very own Harry Shum Jr. will be performing with his dance group The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers! Check out a sneak peek:
I hope we see lots of Gleeks out to support him! He’s really quite incredible!
It sounds like it has been very busy on the Glee set these days. Lots of long days and lots of cool stuff coming our way! Dianna Agron snapped this picture of Chris & Jenna after a 12 hour day – poor guys look exhausted.
The cast is currently shooting the 5th episode of the back 9 and from the Gleek’s tweets it sounds like we have a lot to look forward to!
It also sounds like they have been having plenty of fun playing around on set in their downtime (hula hoops, skateboards, etc)
Oh and Jenna is so nice – look what she brought everyone!
Man, I really wish I could play on the Glee set with all of them – sounds like a blast along with TONS of hard work…my kinda gig.
One question though, where are Matthew, Jayma, and all the “adults” when all of this is going on? I think it would be so fun to see what they do on set all day!
Oh and check out this picture Harry Shum Jr. posted on Twitter – props to the crew of Glee! Can you imagine how insanely hard and busy their job must be? I’m exhausted just looking at this picture!
And this is my favorite tweet of all
“Wooow….. Shooting what I think will be my fav number of the back 9 thus far, today! Ya’ll are in for a REAL treat..”
We are now in the 30′s guys…we are getting so close to the return of Glee but it still seems so far away. I’m hoping we’ll come out of this Oscar weekend with some good pics of those attending the festivities and maybe some Glee scoop from some interviews. Hmmmm…we’ll just have to wait and see.
Snipits: Weekend Edition
Snipits will be short this week since I’ve covered pretty much everything but there are a few goodies.
Apparently things got pretty hot on the set of Glee this week when Chris Colfer put up this twitpic:
Sounds like things are getting exciting. Actually, I think there may have been an actual fire of some kind because if the truck were a prop they would have covered up the Los Angeles Fire Dept. with Lima Fire Dept. Don’t you think?
Dianna Agron has been busy this week. She’s writing, preparing for her mom to come visit, and she adopted a pup! Dianna has joined the many celebs that advocate animal adoption. She wrote the following on her blog.
A huge thank you to the Amanda Foundation for taking such good care of their rescue dogs. This is the start of a beautiful friendship. We’ve explored the block, his new home, and wrestled with some dinosaur toys. His name? Not sure yet…so far John Robie is a high contender, although I’d call him Johnny. John Robie would only be used when being formally introduced. Ten points for knowing the reference. Anyways, I think a name will come within the week. He’s such a little sap. Very, very happy.
Harry Shum Jr. has not only been busy on the set of Glee he and his dance troupe LXD have been busy getting ready for their Oscar gig. Don’t forget to tune in to the Oscars on Sunday, March 7th to catch Harry!
I have to say, I am no longer disappointed in you guys! We did it – we got Jennifer Aspen to 500 followers on Twitter! Now we need to push for even more and keep pushing for that song!! Remember to tweet Fox all the time!!
One of my favorite Tweets from yesterday was from one of my loyal followers. I tweeted What are they gonna have Will say at the beginning of the episode when #Glee comes back? “Here’s what you missed 4 months ago”…
@Missa89 responded with Here’s what happened before Fox ruined your life…”
That still makes me laugh!
Snipits – Weekend Edition
It’s been a while since I’ve done Snipits so I thought I would do a brief weekend edition. Think of it as Weekend Update for Glee.
Our Gleeks have been very busy for the last several weeks and it sounds to me like they are getting a much needed and deserved weekend off! I can’t even imagine the amount of work they put in to one week – we’d probably all be dying by the end of a Glee week so I’m glad that they can get some R&R.
Harry Shum Jr. is excited to sleep in! He tweeted, “I get to sleep in tomorrow?!?!? If someone calls me in the morning to wake me up…I’ma tele-stab them…” (@iharryshum)
Mark Salling & Kevin McHale jumped a last minute flight to Vancouver for some Olympic fun. I am constantly jealous of this cast but the fact that they are getting VIP treatment at the Olympics is making it worse. Oh well, they deserve it!
“In Vancouver for the olympics this weekend with @mark_salling !it’s beautiful here!! So stoked!! Thanks HBC!” Kevin tweeted followed by “Vancouver is going crazy tonight!!! The best energy woo woo”
(@druidDude)
Mark joined in the Twitter fun as well! “Eyo, guess who’s gonna be all up in Vancouver this weekend? Motherfreakin me, ah yeah” followed by “Hey Vancouver, ur so clean, can’t wait to see more of u, thanks hbc” (@mark_salling).
It sounds like HBC is really hooking up the Glee cast because Cory Monteith got some love from them while he was in his home country too!
Cory has decided to spend some time south of the border this weekend. He tweeted, “last minute weekend trip to Mexico! spontaneous travel = my favorite thing ever.” (@frankenteen)
It sounds like the rest of them are just enjoying some down time in LA. I hope they have a great weekend!!
Oh! And Lea Michele wants to thank us all for her concern about her back troubles: “Thanks for all your concern about my back troubles. It actually wasn’t that bad & only hurt for a bit a few months ago. All good now:)” (@msleamichele)
I also found a great little clip of a question Jayma Mays was asked by parade some time ago.
Q: Is Glee’s Jayma Mays a trained singer?
A: (from Jayma herself) “I grew up singing in the church choir, but I’ve not really had any training,” says Mays, 30, who plays the germophobic guidance counselor on Fox’s hit series. “It was a shock when I got cast.” Another challenge: memorizing Japanese for her role as a waitress with a super memory on NBC’s Heroes. “That was probably the hardest thing I’ve had to do. I think if I had to sing in Japanese, that’d add a whole other layer of difficulty.”
I love her.
And last but not least I feel it my duty as a Glee fansite writer/blogger to respond to the sad Tweet from Garrett Greer (one of Ryan Murphy’s assistants). “Glee fansites creep me out.” (@xoxoGG)
Well Garrett, I’m sorry we creep you out so much. I’m pretty sure that you have a job because of the fans and their respective sites. Your boss even said he reads them to listen to the fans. That shows respect. You, however, show none. We may be fans but we’re not all crazy. We genuinely love the show and want to do what we can to spread the Glee love and promote the show. So next time you buy a cup of coffee with your hard-earned Glee money remember us and how we creep you out.
I want to end on a positive note so I’ll add one more Glee crew Tweet from February 18th: “Today marks one year since we began filming the series. Happy Anniversary Glee family!!” (@totle9). Thanks Aristotle! We are so glad you’ve all had such a successful year and we wish you all a happy Glee anniversary. Thanks for the LOVE!

“Glee” creator Ryan Murphy is also hearing what the audience is saying.
“We listen very closely to what fans say about the show,” said Murphy. “Fans like certain things, don’t like certain things, and I am somebody who reads those blogs. I like knowing.”
For instance, Murphy found that after the first 13 episodes of the Fox high-school-set musical comedy, the fans were “babied out.”
Murphy was, of course, referring to teen cheerleader Quinn’s surprise pregnancy and the hysterical pregnancy of music teacher Will’s wife, Terri. Both bun-in-the-oven story lines were the basis of much drama at the beginning of the season.
“I think it was a little too much of the two-part pregnancy within the show,” he said, “so in the back nine [episodes], you won’t really see that much of it – other than the birth of Quinn’s baby.”
Other adjustments Murphy and his team are making for new episodes, which hit the air starting April 13, include more musical numbers (at least one each act), more story lines involving different characters and, simply, more heart.
“I was really thrilled to see the audience’s reaction to the Kurt/Dad story line,” in which a young, gay Kurt opened up about his sexuality to his father. “I also loved the audience’s reaction to Jane’s sister,” who is mentally handicapped, he said. “I loved that the audience is very invested in the heart of the show, so that’s something we are writing to more now.” (Source: NY Daily News)

“I’m a vegan,” Michele explains. “It makes me feel really good and bright.”
The 23-year old actress is best known for her role in the Fox TV series, Glee. Michele told OK! that she credits her vegan diet for giving her the energy to play the peppy Rachel Berry.
In addition to sticking to a plant-based diet, Michele has campaigned against animal cruelty by posing in an anti-horse-drawn carriage ad for PETA. (Source: OK Magazine)

Most hilarious and ridiculous article ever written about ‘Glee’. It makes me laugh and infuriates me all at the same time. Click here to see it but be warned…it’s insane and stupid!

And this because I love Chris Colfer and this video makes me smile!

New GleeHab Stuff – SNIPITS!
Sometimes I find little phrases, quotes from the actors, random mini-articles, and other stuff that don’t necessarily justify an entire post. So, in order to incorporate these little finds in to the blog and share them with you I’ve decided to start a little section called “Snipits”. Here are the first few:
As for Terri and Emma, “We’ll have a real old fashioned girl fight, though I won’t stop at murder, honey,” Gilsig joked to Mays on the red carpet. “Or at least getting you transferred.” (Source: TV Guide)
***
Word is Jayma Mays, who plays Emma, will dress provocatively and sing “Like A Virgin” with one of two other characters. All Jayma would confirm is that her song is “very appropriate and fitting for my character.” Does Jayma think Emma’s yet to to touched for the very first time? “If they said my character’s a virgin I wouldn’t be surprised.” (Source: SpoilerTV)
***
If you say it, he will listen. More precisely, Ryan Murphy says, “We listen very closely to what fans say about the show. Fans like certain things, don’t like certain things, and I am somebody who reads those blogs. I like knowing.” (Source: Glee Fox Wiki)
The best part about “Snipits” is that I want help from all of YOU! I would love for you, my loyal readers, to send me anything you find that you’d like to see on the the site. It can be anything related to the show, the actors, and anything else! So please please please email me with your snipits! Make sure to send a link to the source as well. You can send them to gleehabrach {at} gmail {dot} com.
I look forward to hearing from you!!
