Gleeks Rock Chi-Town

Saturday was a HUGE day for our beloved Gleeks.  Many cast members were a part of an incredible taping of  Oprah, a completely Glee-centric episode complete with 2 live performances, chats with cast members, and lots of goodies about the back 9.  The crew showed up on Friday for sound checks and rehearsals and taped the show on Saturday.  The show itself will air on Wednesday, April 7th (check your local listings).  Once the taping was over the kids hit the streets of Chi-town and partied well in to the early hours of the morning!

Patrons of Chicago’s trendy Jbar were in for a treat Saturday night as the cast of Glee took over the dance floor. Still high on the excitement of taping an episode of Oprah, the cast of Glee showed Chicago how to party. Many of the stars took to Twitter Saturday morning to rave about the once in a lifetime opportunity. They later hit the town to celebrate the momentous occasion as a group.

Amber Riley (Mercedes) followed through on her promise to celebrate in style. “That was thee most amazing thing I’ve ever experienced! Oprah is the sweetest woman I’ve ever met! I’m partying tonight!”

Mark Salling, Amber Riley, Heather Morris, Harry Shum Jr. and Naya Rivera showed off their dancing skills for about three hours as they celebrated their Oprah debut together. Don’t worry; although the actors play high school students on television, they are all of legal drinking age. The cast let loose, enjoying Belvedere Vodka and cheesecake lollipops from David Burke’s Primehouse.

It seems that Chris Colfer (Kurt) pulled out some old school moves on the dance floor. Early this morning, Harry Shum Jr. (Mike) reminisced about the events of Saturday night. “@chriscolfer musicality was on point last night! Honorary robot!”

Amber Riley joined in the fun saying, “I concur! U ripped up that dance floor lol! Good times”.

Chris Colfer (Kurt) couldn’t wait until today to give pal Harry Shum a hard time. After returning home from the bar, Colfer tweeted, “Amazing night out dancing in Chicago! We tore the dance floor up like a failed AP exam! I’m convinced @iharryshum is a robot”.

Hopefully the dancing fools got some sleep last night. They were on the road today, headed for Washington D.C. in preparation for another big engagement. The cast will join stars like actress Reese Witherspoon, Olympic champion Apolo Ohno, Sesame Street’s Elmo, teen pop singer Justin Bieber, and members of the Washington Redskins, as they attend the White House Easter Egg Roll. The event will take place on Monday on the South Lawn.
